From #NPTechClubATX Volunteer Carolyn M. Appleton
NTEN & NetSquared Nonprofit Tech Club Austin had a wonderful 2019.
We captured our programs, speakers and other important information in an Adobe Spark video. Here is a link to watch it on the Adobe Spark platform. Needless to say, I learned about Adobe Spark during a prior tech club program, and I use it a lot in my work and volunteering today!
Our club is organized and managed solely by volunteers. Our expert guest speakers share their knowledge free of charge as a public service. Capital Factory has hosted most of our programs the prior two years free of charge, and they provide onsite tech support and live broadcast/streaming via Austin Tech Live on YouTube. Other venue hosts have provided lunch and free wireless! Trianon Coffee has graciously donated gourmet coffee gifts for our guest speakers the past two years. This year, General Assembly provided a 50% discount on classes through the end of 2019. We are #grateful.
We thank Eli Van Der Geissen of TechSoup for his thoughtful, detailed attention to any and all of our local tech club needs. NTEN's Tristan Penn supports us from HQ in Portland, Oregon. Our key Austin volunteers aside from myself include:
Thanks to everyone involved with #NPTechClubATX. It takes a team to do all the work involved in managing our club, and we've been blessed with a great one. Happy holidays!
P.S. - By the way, this fall I was pleased to be asked to participate in the creation of a disaster preparation and recovery curriculum with TechSoup. Here is a link to downloadable documents that are free of charge for you to use! Shares welcome.
